Laupahoehoe Outing

Aloha Photo Friends,
The January outing is THIS SATURDAY January 10th.

We are going to Laupahoehoe in the afternoon to capture the dramatic
seascapes and full moon rise.

Here is the itinerary:

12noon meet at Aloha Luigi¹s for those who would like to have lunch together
(264 Keawe St
Hilo, HI 96720 Phone: (808) 934-9112)

1pm Depart Hilo

1pm-4pm work our way up the Hamakua Coast stopping at some of the many
scenic spots to photograph the waterfalls, rainforest, streams, trees,
leaves, flowers and back roads.

4pm-6pm shoot at Laupahoehoe. Sunset and full moonrise are both at 6pm.
Should be nice!

We will be going RAIN OR SHINE. Bring snacks, water, rain gear for yourself
and your camera gear.

July Newsletter and Meeting Announcement

The July newsletter is here. Thanks to George Jensen for putting it together.

July meeting will be Wed the 16th at 7pm, Kamana Senior Center. The meeting will feature a presentation by Andrew Bisset on the topic of photographing orchids and post editing work.

George needs photos for the newsletter! If you have photos you’d like to display in the August newsletter, please send them to him ASAP.

The February 2008 HPC newsletter is available here.

Kudos to George Jensen for picking up the ball and taking over layout of the newsletter!

Next meeting: February 20, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Kamana Senior Center, 127 Kamana St., Hilo.

For film-based photographers, Bob Douglas will give a presentation on Jobo Film and print processing.

For digital photographers, George Jensen will provide an overview of the photo judging that the club is doing for a mainland club.

CCCH Convention Cancelled

Aloha All,

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I have to announce the cancellation of this year’s Convention.
I know some of you have put aside the time and money and have the desire to continue this decades long tradition but the reality is that the response has been extremely poor. It is my hope that the cancellation of this year’s convention does not portend the future of next year’s. It has been some time since I have met with some of you and still wish for this to happen in the future. I look forward to Maui to keep this tradition going.
